Dismal Nitch

A small, humble recording studio for songwriters, bands & quiet sessions in the Pacific Northwest.

The space

A warm room for honest records.

Dismal Nitch is a small, well-equipped studio tucked into Ballard. It's not glossy or oversized — it's a comfortable room with good gear, good ears, and the patience to let a song breathe. We track, mix, master, engineer and produce for artists who care about the take.

We work mostly in singer-songwriter and rock territory, but we're open to anything that sounds like itself. Whether you're cutting a single live to tape-feel, demoing a record, or finishing a project that stalled somewhere else — bring it in.
